Roger Hertog was one of the founding partners of Sanford C. Bernstein & Co., Inc. in 1968, and served as the firm’s President until its combination with Alliance Capital Management in October 2000. He currently is President of The Hertog Foundation, a non-profit charitable organization, and Vice-Chairman Emeritus of AllianceBernstein L.P., one of the largest publicly traded investment management firms in the world. A graduate of City College of New York, he is the Chairman of the New-York Historical Society, Chairman Emeritus of The Manhattan Institute, a trustee of the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research, The New York Public Library, The New York Philharmonic and the Thomas Jefferson Foundation. In 2007, Mr. Hertog was awarded the National Humanities Medal for philanthropy.
